Megan Helmbrecht



Megan has been a professional nonprofit fundraiser for 25 years.  After 4 years with a fundraising consulting firm in Atlanta, Megan was a major gift officer and director of donor relations at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where she was a part of the executive team that launched a successful $1 billion capital campaign. 


After moving to Austin in 1999, Megan was the first Director of Development at the Lance Armstrong Foundation, where she formalized major gift and annual gift programs.  After that, Megan served as a consultant to The Miracle Foundation, an Austin nonprofit that helps orphans in India get the quality of life they deserve. 


In 2016, Megan served as the event consultant for E3Alliance’s first fundraiser, “Geeks in Boots.”  As such, she oversaw event every detail including graphic design, volunteer recruitment and engagement, meeting organization, fundraising strategies, entertainment, program development and PR/communications.  The event surpassed its goal by 50%, raising $150,000 for this young charity.


Megan has three children with her husband Michael: Sarah (15), Will (13) and Tom (10).  She is an active volunteer at Doss Elementary School, Hand to Hold and Tarrytown Methodist Church.
